CECA CSCS AUDIT 2009
The Civil Engineering Contractors Association’s (CECA) new format CSCS card audit took place at the end of the year. It revealed that in excess of 99% of employees surveyed, both direct employees and sub-contractors, carry a recognised card, with the better part of 60% of those surveyed having the correct card for the role in which they are employed. Joe Johnson, CECA’s Director of Training, commented: “This is the first time that any construction sector trade association has attempted to get into the details of the card carrying workforce.” The new format survey spreadsheet gave members who completed it useful data on the future training requirements of their organisation. Bryoni Wickenden, Chairman of CECA’s People and Resources Committee, commented: “The data provided by the new audit form allows members to identify which of their employees require their NVQ’s to be updated to reflect the role they are currently employed in. This information will ensure that CECA remain at the forefront of ConstructionSkills’ Qualifying the Workforce initiative. Employers can use this information to plan training for the forthcoming year and to ensure they maximise the amount of Grant they claim through their Training Plan.” There is more information about the audit on CECA’s website. |
